About the Groomer
Your groomer, Julie, has always had an affinity for animals & has always been surrounded by multiple species of animals, from mice to birds to horses.
While earning a Biology degree from Purdue University in the early 90's, she worked part-time as a dog bather and also in a pet shop, caring for the animals and the customers. After graduating with a B.S. in the Biological Sciences, she spent several years working in the clinical and pharmaceutical industries, all the while continuing to work part-time as a dog bather on weekends.
Two separate layoffs made her rethink her career choices, and in 2004, she began working full-time at a dog kennel, caring for the dog’s daily needs and also providing a bathing/brushing service.
In 2009, she decided to make an official career change and completed a 550 hour Professional Groomer Course, receiving her official Dog Grooming Certification. Initially she worked in 2 local shops, but saw there was a great need for more personalized, attentive service, where the dog ALWAYS comes first.
She opened a mobile dog grooming business in early 2010 and has never looked back! She enjoys attending continuing education events such as educational seminars, trade shows and also watching educational grooming videos, keeping current with Pet First Aid & CPR skills, and learning ever more about the wonderful world of dogs, and why they do the things they do!
